Position Summary

MTech is seeking a Regional Sales Manager based in Pennsylvania to represent our full line of municipal equipment throughout Western Pennsylvania. This is a consultative, relationship-driven sales role working directly with municipalities, public works departments, utilities, and select contractors. You’ll guide customers through equipment selection and purchasing decisions while being fully supported by MTech’s service, training, and technical teams.

Position Information

Position Details
  • Ideal Home Location: Greater Pittsburgh, PA

  • Territory Covered: Western Pennsylvania (State College West to the Ohio border)

  • Job Type: Full-Time

  • Compensation: Salary + Commission, with additional bonus opportunities tied to sales and gross profit performance (commensurate with experience)

  • Reports To: Vice President of Sales

  • Supervisory Responsibility: None

What You’ll Do
  • Represent and sell MTech’s full portfolio of municipal and vocational equipment, including:
    • Sewer Inspection Equipment
    • Sewer Jetters, Hydro-Excavators, & Combination Sewer Trucks
    • Refuse and Recycle Trucks
    • Street Sweepers
    • Leaf & Debris Collectors
    • Aerial Lift Trucks
    • Service Trucks
    • Safety Equipment & Training
  • Develop and manage strong customer relationships with municipalities and contractors across Western PA
  • Conduct on-site equipment demonstrations and support customer training for newly delivered vehicles
  • Provide basic technical guidance and product knowledge working hand in hand with  MTech’s service team 

  • Work hand-in-hand with sales, service, administrative, and marketing teams to deliver a seamless customer journey from quote to delivery, driving satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term customer success.
  • Identify and track bid opportunities and support cooperative purchasing programs

  • Travel throughout the assigned territory using a company vehicle (overnight travel may be required)

  • Travel regularly within the assigned territory (overnight travel may be required)

  • Actively engage in local organizations, trade shows, and events that support MTech’s presence and growth

  • Perform on-site cold calling to drive new business development

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience, preferably in municipal, heavy equipment, industrial, or vocational truck markets

  • Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills

  • Comfortable demonstrating equipment and discussing technical applications

  • Ability to travel throughout Western Pennsylvania, including occasional overnight stays

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (Salesforce experience is a plus)

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment applications (hands-on experience a plus) 
  • Comfort working with bids, cooperative purchasing contracts, and long sales cycles
  • Valid driver’s license (CDL-B preferred or willingness to obtain. MTech will cover training if needed
  • Must be drug-free and able to pass DOT physicals to maintain CDL eligibility

Technical Background (NOT REQUIRED)

Bonus Skills That Accelerate Success (A Plus)
  • Mechanical or technical background (mechanic/technician experience or mechanically inclined)

  • Familiarity with hydraulics, pneumatics, CAN bus systems, or similar components

  • Experience with municipal equipment such as:

    • Sewer Inspection Equipment 
    • Sewer Jetters, Hydro-Excavators & Vacuum trucks (Vactor, Super Products, Vac-Con, GapVax, etc.)

    • Refuse Trucks

    • Street Sweepers

  • Willingness to obtain a Class A or B CDL (training and costs covered by MTech if needed)
